Carl 'Manny' Nord

Carl "Manny" Nord, age 79, of Brainerd, formerly of Crosby, died April 30, 2008, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.

He was born March 29, 1929, in Cuyuna to Gust and Clara (Miller) Nord. He married Jeanette I. Brooks on Jan. 17, 1955, in Sisseton, S.D. He was an U.S. Korean Army veteran. He is a retired Inland Steel employee. He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post 443, Ironton.

He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Nord Oppelt of Brainerd and Terri (Carolyn Urban) Nord of Stow, Mass.; one brother, Arnold Nord of Brainerd; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanette, brothers and sisters.

Friends may call Friday from noon-1 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
