EXTRA CREDIT
Kara Rud, a graduate of Brainerd High School, is one of 25 winners of Minnesota Power's $2,000 Community Involvement Scholarships. In partnership with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, scholarships are awarded to students who live in the Minnesota Power electric service area, have maintained good academic records and have been actively involved in volunteer projects in their communities.

ATV crash injures two
A 36-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl were injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash at 4 p.m. Saturday on the Soo Line Trail east of 280th Avenue in Pierz Township.

In response to the letter stating that teachers do not work hard I must strongly disagree. My father taught for over 30 years at Franklin Junior High. Growing up I watched him bring home students' tests, papers and other homework in order to correct them.
