Fredman, Krause win twice to lift PHS girls

PILLAGER - Amy Fredman won the shot put and discus and Katlin Krause won the 200-meter dash and pole vault to lead the Pillager Huskies girls' track and field team to first Thursday in the Pillager Invite.

Krause placed second in the 100 dash and third in the long jump. Meghan Hamson won the 100 dash, was third in the 200 dash and fourth in the long jump.

Pillager also received firsts from freshmen Kayla Rardin (3200 run), Kim Rardin (800) and Jackie White (400 dash).

Amy Fredman won the shot put and discus.

Brainerd's Jenna Ruzich finished second in the 3200 to lead the Warriors to third. Tiffany Etterman and Mary Petersen finished second and third in the 100 hurdles and Emily Benson was second in the triple jump.

The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders placed fourth. Hannah Barrett (300 hurdles) and Alida Moenkedick (1600 run) won their events.

The Aitkin Gobblers' 4x100 relay won helping the team to fifth.

Taylor Sheley was second in the high jump to lead Pine River-Backus to seventh.
