Bevy of awards doled out
WARRIOR ALL-SPORTS BANQUET
Various awards were distributed at Monday night's Brainerd Warriors All-Sports Banquet, sponsored by the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club and Cub Foods.
* The Brainerd Sports Boosters Club awarded six $500 scholarships: Erin Karlsgodt and Nate Weber, to attend Central Lakes College; Anthony Hennen and Ally Hartje, at-large; and Andrew Mehr and Claire Northway, boosters scholar athletes.
* The KVBR-KLIZ Radio Loren Thompson Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Lindsey Jourdan, who will attend CLC.
* The $350 Brainerd Dispatch Jim Wallace Memorial Scholarship went to Chris Woodard.
* Silent Warrior Awards were given to Cheryl Severson, Janet and Jeff Horn, Pam and Greg Peeters, Lonna and Dave Rozinka, Jackie Mehr and Bernie Ness.
* Chelsey Weiss spoke on behalf of senior athletes.
* The Bud Schmid Award went to baseball assistant coach Keith Peterson.
* Head coaches David Devine (boys' soccer), Chris Hanson (Nordic skiing) and Bob Brakke (wrestling), who have resigned, were recognized.
* Former superintendent Elliot Whoolery spoke on behalf of hall of famers Dave Maras, Lowell Scearcy and Ron Stolski.
