ST. CLOUD -- The Brainerd Warriors claimed only two victories on the day as they fell to the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles 5-2 Tuesday in a Central Lakes Conference tennis meet.
Paul Tuchscherer picked up the only Warrior win in singles play as he defeated Bjorn Bjorkland 6-1, 6-0.
The other Warrior win came from Oliver Reiter and Mark Norman in the No. 3 doubles match as they defeated Andrew Grimsley and Joe Mahon 6-2, 3-6, and 6-2.
"The guys played well today," said Warriors coach Bruce Thompson. "It is a little frustrating though that we don't carry the way we practice over to the matches. Each time the kids go out there they are getting better. We just need to step up to our opponents level now."
