Saturday proclaimed March of Dimes Day in Brainerd

Brainerd Mayor James Wallin proclaimed Saturday as March of Dimes Day in the city of Brainerd.

Wallin commended the March of Dimes for its leadership role in the fight to prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality and urged all residents to support the efforts of the March of Dimes in its successful fight to save babies.

Good Sam Day proclaimed in city Monday

Brainerd Mayor James Wallin proclaimed Monday as "Good Samaritan Bowl Day" in the city of Brainerd.

Monday marks the sixth annual Good Samaritan Bowl at Jack's House in Brainerd. The event has raised more than $165,000 in the past five years to make improvements for the Good Samaritan Society care centers and hospice program.
