Hasselberg, S-M capture crowns

ST. CLOUD - Cydney Hasselberg's 83 captured medalist honors and led the Staples-Motley Cardinals to a first-place finish in the Presection Invite at the Territory Golf Club Thursday.

The Cardinals finished with a 361 to top second-place St. Cloud Cathedral by four strokes. Section and state favorite Minnewaska did not compete.

Darcy Martin shot 90, Kelly Hagenson 93 and Julia Schock carded a 94 for the Cardinals.

Pequot Lakes finished sixth with a 409 and was led by Cati Blowers' 95.

Wadena-Deer Creek finished seventh behind Tracy Gustafson's 92.

Kristin Gotvold shot a 103 as Pierz finished 11th.
