PILLAGER - Alton T. "Bud" Johnson, age 87, resident of Pillager, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls. Bud was born in Tunkawa, Okla., to Albin and Nellie (Young) Johnson on April 25, 1921. He attended Dunwoody Technical School in Minneapolis for auto mechanics. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Bud owned and operated Bud's Auto Repair for 30 years. He lived on Crow Wing Lake for 50 years. After retiring he enjoyed gardening and repairing John Deere tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with the Rev. Harvey Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Belle Prairie with Military Honors provided by Brainerd American Legion Post No. 255 Color Guard. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and the hour before services on Saturday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
