Seven-run inning sparks Fort Ripley over Lastrup

LASTRUP -- The Fort Ripley Rebels scored all seven of their runs in the fifth inning and held on to defeat the Lastrup Lakers 7-5 in the only Victory League amateur baseball game played in the North and East divisions Sunday.

The Rebels' Austin Schmolke was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Scott LeBlanc delivered a pinch two-run double in the Rebels' fifth. Devin Roberts was 2-4 for Fort Ripley.

Tim Hoglin pitched eight innings to get the win. He struck out 12 and walked five.

Lastrup had the tying run at the plate in the ninth. Reliever Andy Hess pitched out of the jam, getting a flyout to left to end the game.

Lastrup's Jamie Litke was 2-5 with a solo home run and three-run double. Dan Saehr and Tim Lease both doubled for the Lakers.
