20 years ago (1985)

The news that the bandstand in Gregory Park is being refurbished warmed the hearts of many Brainerd residents.

30 years ago (1975)

Between 400 and 600 persons are expected in Brainerd for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Loyalty Day observance Saturday and Sunday.

40 years ago (1965)

The Brainerd FFA team won top honors at state level. Members of the team are George Betts, Bill Sewell and Ronald Pierzinski.

60 years ago (1945)

Brainerd Lions Club and Labor Volunteers for Victory today shipped 14,927 pounds of clothing contributed in the city and vicinity for the relief of civilians in war -torn allied Europe.

80 years ago (1925)

The speaker orated fervently to his youthful audience, "He looked neither to the right, nor to the left, but pressed ever forward. All who crossed his path did so at their peril. What would you call such a man?"

"A truck driver," shouted a dozen hearers.

100 years ago (1905)

O. G. Dahl has purchased the interest of his partner, O.A. Finnes, in the grocery business on Laurel Street and will conduct the business alone in the future.
