April showers were plentiful

April showers, aided by a half inch of snow, resulted in a slightly wetter-than-normal month, officials with the DNR forestry office in Brainerd said today.

April precipitation was 3.67 inches compared to the 10-year-average of 2.43 inches. Precipitation for the year is 4.35 inches compared to an average of 5.51 inches.

This season's snowfall measured only 21 inches compared to an average of 58.80 inches. The monthly snowfall amount was considerably less than the 4.1-inch average.

High temperature for the month was 86 degrees on April 14. The low temperature was 11 degrees on April 5.
