Emily hosts open house on comprehensive plan

EMILY - The city of Emily is hosting an open house on May 15-16 to engage residents in planning for the city's future growth and development.

Hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 15 and 9 a.m. to noon May 16 at Emily City Hall. The city reports all people interested in the future of the city of Emily are invited to attend. The purpose of the event is to share and receive information needed for the city to update its comprehensive plan.

Charles Marohn, a planner and engineer with Community Growth Institute of Brainerd, will make a presentation at 12:30 p.m. May 15 on area and statewide planning trends and issues facing small towns today. There will be another presentation at 7 p.m. May 15 on the implementation of the 2002 comprehensive plan.

Multiple opportunities for public participation and feedback will be provided. Grilled food and refreshments will be served at noon on May 15. More information is available online at www.emilyplanning.info or by calling Barb Hubbard, zoning clerk, at (218) 763-3793.
