Quast's 37 leads Cardinals

PARK RAPIDS - Brad Quast was the medalist as he fired a 37 to guide the Staples-Motley boys' golf team to a second-place finish at the Mid-Minnesota Conference boys' golf meet at Park Rapids Monday.

Ben Duhn recorded a 42 and Travis Myers shot a 44 for the Cardinals, who lead the conference standings with 64.5 points.

Jon Taves led Wadena-Deer Creek with a 40 while Matt Kramer shot a 42 and Brandon Kramer recorded 43.

Aitkin outshoots East

Central by 30

SANDSTONE - Reece Thompson and Mike Weitnauer tied for medalist honors as each finished with 40s to help the Aitkin Gobblers boy' golf team trounce East Central by 30 strokes in their Great River Conference meet Monday.

Matt Dragovich followed up with a 41 while Jesse Helbling and Dalton Moss each carded 43 swings.
