Mabel Paul, an insurance representative from Martinson Insurance for 23 years, was singled out for her hospitable attitude toward customers in the Brainerd Area Chamber of Commerce's Mystery Shopper Program.

30 years ago (1977)

Square dancers turned out in full force yesterday afternoon for the Paul Bunyan Square Dance Festival held in the gym of the Lincoln School in Brainerd.

40 years ago (1967)

Elmer Hauge, Brainerd highway patrolman, was awarded the American Red Cross Certificate of Merit for saving the life of an accident victim. The award is the highest honor given by the organization.

60 years ago (1947)

The long awaited choir trip to Bemidji is almost here. On Wednesday, May 7, at 8:30 in the morning the choir members and their director, Mr. Everett Nelson, will pile into buses for their 100-mile ride.

80 years ago (1927)

Rotary Club elected officers.

100 years ago (1907)

The dance at Mr. James Chryslers' last Saturday was a grand success. Everyone enjoyed a good time.
