Pawlenty plans Memorial Day speech in Nisswa

NISSWA - Gov. Tim Pawlenty will speak at the Nisswa American Legion Memorial Day ceremony, which begins at noon May 28 at the Nisswa American Legion.

The governor will fly to Brainerd after making remarks at the Fort Snelling Memorial Day ceremony earlier that day.

Keynote speaker for the Nisswa ceremony will be Gen. Bruce Carlson, commander of Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Carlson is a 1967 graduate of Brainerd High School who was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2001.

Also scheduled to speak are former state Sen. Don Samuelson of Brainerd and Nisswa Mayor Brian Lehman. Lehman will deliver a tribute to Nisswa veterans and Samuelson will deliver a tribute to the veterans of all wars.
