FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- Phyllis Marie Dickman, 61, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska.
A former Brainerd resident, Phyllis was born Nov. 25, 1942, in Red Bluff, Calif. She moved to Fairbanks in June 1975.
She had been a seamstress and later was a school bus driver for Andres Bus Co. She was employed as a receptionist at the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District administration office. Phyllis enjoyed sewing, crafts and computers and always loved a good joke. She had received a Two Rivers Community Service Award.
Phyllis will always be remembered by her family as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who gave unselfishly to all she loved. She was respected and loved by her co-workers.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Arthur; children Dan, Richard, Tammy, Sherri, Lisa and Wanda; 17 grandchildren; six grandchildren; brothers Clifford, Steve, Tom, James, David and Dennis LaValle; sister Jackie Flansburg and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
A memorial service was held in the Two Rivers Elementary School Gymnasium. Pastor Wayne Shea of Two Rivers Baptist Church officiated.
