Warren Arthur Riesch, 82, of Brainerd, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Bethany Good Samaritan Apartments in Brainerd. Warren was born on Feb. 2, 1922, in St. Paul, Minn., to Louis A. and Winnifred (Warren) Riesch. He graduated from high school in St. Paul and served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Pharmacist Mate First Class. On Nov. 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to Nellie Smith in St. Paul. Following his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service, they moved to Manhattan Beach in the early 1980s. They moved into the Bethany Good Samaritan Apartments in August of 2002. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Swanburg; the Crosslake American Legion; a lifetime member of the Steiner Marin VFW Post in St. Paul (that his father Louis founded) and the Crosslake Lions Club. He enjoyed his family, dancing, boating and fishing.
Warren is survived by daughters, Wynnell (Tony) Larson of Crosslake, Marlene (Mark) Fischer of Leadville, Colo.; son Barry Riesch of St. Paul; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. His wife Nellie preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 2003, his parents and his brother Walden.
Services were Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Swanburg. Burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
Arrangements were with Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake.
