Olson throws no-hitter for Northwestern College
COLLEGE SOFTBALL
ST. PAUL - Sophomore Ashley Olson of Baxter threw a no-hitter Tuesday as the Northwestern College softball team swept a tripleheader from Presentation College.
The beneficiary of a nine-run first inning in Game One, the Brainerd High School graduate struck out nine on her way to the five-inning gem.
Olson has pitched eight complete games in 11 starts and has appeared in 16 games in all. She has a 4.04 ERA and 5-6 record. In 71 innings she has allowed 95 hits, walked 14 and struck out 32. Opponents are hitting .304 against her.

At the plate Olson is batting .130 with four RBIs.
The Eagles (18-21 overall, 14-7 UMAC) play in Friday's UMAC tournament at Mankato where NWC will enter as the third seed. NWC will play second-seeded Northland College at noon before playing either the College of St. Scholastica or University of Minnesota-Morris at 2 p.m.
