PILLAGER - Arlene J. Wilcox, age 68, of Pillager, passed away early Saturday, April 29, 2007, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pillager. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery at Pillager. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter and also for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Arlene Joyce Wilcox was born on June 14, 1938, in Kost, Minn., the daughter of John and Valerie (Johnson) Nelson. She was called from this life early Saturday morning at the St. Cloud Hospital attaining the age of 68 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Arlene grew up in the Kost area and graduated from North Branch High School. On July 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Marcum Wilcox in Almelund, Minn. Arlene and Mike were able to share almost 50 years of marriage together. After their marriage Arlene worked for Honeywell Corp. in Minneapolis. In 1970 they purchased and began operating the Little Pine Resort near Brainerd. After selling the resort she worked doe the Brainerd garment factory and A-Tek. Among the things she enjoyed were gardening, the casinos and vacationing in Las Vegas. She also enjoyed camping, Fishing and being with family and friends at the river lot.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Valerie; two brothers, Johnnie and Harvey; and her grandson, Nathan.
She is mourned in passing by her husband, Mike of Pillager; children, Brian (Merjem) Wilcox of Brainerd, Barry Wilcox of Pillager and Rick (Linda) Wilcox of Pillager; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Lloyd; and sisters-in-law Joyce, Merodie, Arlys and Cheryl.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
