Harold 'Don' D. Herbon

BAXTER -- Harold "Don" D. Herbon, 73, Baxter, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 1, 1928, in Harold and Lois (Tennell) Herbon. He served in the Army. He married Helen Shafer on April 18, 1953, in Waukesha, Wis. He worked as a salesman for Imgrund Auto and Mills Motors. He was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 255 and the Moose Lodge, where he received the Pilgrim award.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robin H. Herbon, Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter, Peggy Jo Rudkin, Brainerd; four grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Herbon, Chicago; and a sister, Patsy Eimers, Burt, Iowa.

His parents died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter with Pastor Darrell Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in Baxter Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post No. 255.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today with a Moose service at 7 p.m. at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
