More than 30 high schools in Central Minnesota planned to participate in a Yellow Ribbon Campaign Conference today at the St. Cloud Hospital sponsored by CentraCare Health Foundation.
The Yellow Ribbon Campaign is a national program meant to raise awareness regarding suicide risks, to promote prevention and to promote the ability to identify those at risk.
Area high schools scheduled to participate included Little Falls, Staples/Motley, Pierz and Wadena.
Kinship plans rummage sale
Lutheran Brotherhood Branch No. 8381 has pledged matching support for Kinship Partners rummage sale.
The sale will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the Kinship Partners activity room, 402 1/2 S. Seventh St.
Kinship Partners is a area youth mentor program for children ages 4-18.
All money raised at the rummage sale will go to summer programs for youth.
Free tax help is available for county residents
The deadline for filing property tax and rent refunds is Aug. 15, and RSVP Volunteer Services will be assisting Crow Wing County residents with the forms.
The free assistance will be available from 1-5 p.m. May 17, June 21, July 19 and Aug. 9 at the Brainerd Public Library by appointment only.
