BAXTER - Charles Boevers, age 72, of Baxter, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial services will be Wednesday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rory Swenson officiating. Friends may visit on Tuesday, April 29, from 5-7 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be private at Baxter City Cemetery.
Charles Jack Boevers was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Lacey, Okla., to George F. and Vitace (Fry) Boevers. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., with a degree in poultry science. He was united in marriage to Barbara Stunkard on Jan. 23, 1955, at Vinita, Okla. He worked in commercial poultry management for 28 years and then was an instructor at Brainerd Technical College for five years and an insurance agent for eight years. Charles was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd. He was proud to have been a Christian man and a good husband, father and grandfather. He loved spoiling his grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a high school sports official and had refereed a Minnesota State championship football game. He was also a former EMT.

Charles is survived by his wife, Barb; children Gary (Debra) Boevers, of St. Peters, Mo., Larry (Estella) Boevers, of Yukon, Okla., Terry (Pamela) Boevers, of Champlin, Lori (Richard) Macias, of Pueblo, Colo., and Barry (Julie) Boevers, of Champlin; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Clara Perkins, Karen (Jerry) Hicks and Nancy Boevers, all of Tulsa, Okla.; and sister-in-law, Lee Boevers, of Broken Arrow, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Boevers. Arrangements entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
