The Brainerd ninth grade softball team split its doubleheader Tuesday at Bemidji.
In the first game Kelsey Kunde had six strikeouts in a 12-7 loss. Meg Jourdan and Britni Hynes both went 1-1. In the second game Bridget Badger pushed her record to 3-0. Ashley Quade went 2-2 and Kelsey Kunde and Kayla Helmberger were 2-3.
Little Falls awards banquet Monday
The Little Falls Senior Athletic Awards Banquet will be 7 p.m. Monday at the Falls Ballroom.
The banquet is for senior varsity letterwinners and their families. Senior letterwinners may pick up their free ticket at the activities office and purchase guest tickets. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students.
Speaker for the event is John Harrington, men's hockey coach at St. John's University and a member of the 1980 gold medal Olympic hockey team.
Softball registration deadline May 7
The deadline for registering for the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department's Petite, Junior and Senior softball leagues is May 7.
Register at the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department office in Lum Park from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Petite, Junior and Senior skills tryouts are scheduled 5 p.m. May 12 at Memorial Park. Participants must be registered and paid their fees to try out.
JV tennis team plays Alexandria
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity boys' tennis team won three matches against Alexandria Tuesday.
Conrad Kragness and Robbie Mitchell won singles matches. Joel Forrest-Jeremy Bock teamed up to win a doubles match.
