Buffalo Gals to conclude Grassroots slate May 7

Posted: Thursday, April 29, 2004

The Brainerd High School Drama Department will present the classic romantic comedy Pride and Prejudice, adapted by Jane Kendall from Jane Austens novel, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the BHS Little Theatre.

Tickets are $10.

The Minnesota acoustic group of four gals and a guy features Maureen Mullen on guitar, Mary DuShane and Betsy Neil on the fiddle, Cathy Mosher on the ukulele and Doug Lohman on bass. Blending traditional classic with fresh originals, they perform danceable songs from the best of folk, country and Cajun.

In 2000, the group's album "Buffalo Moon" won the Minnesota Music Academy award for Best Recording. The band was voted Favorite Old Time Band by the membership of the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association.

Concert-goers are invited to bring non-perishable food for the Salvation Army food shelf. For more information, call 963-2976 or 746-3930, or visit www.grassrootsconcerts.org.
