'Pride and Prejudice' to be staged this weekend at BHS

The Brainerd High School Drama Department will present the classic romantic comedy "Pride and Prejudice," adapted by Jane Kendall from Jane Austen's novel, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the BHS Little Theatre.

Tickets are $5.

The story follows the Bennet family and the five daughters' search for love. Since the Bennet girls are dowerless, the put-upon Mrs. Bennet is determined to find wealthy husbands for all of them. The main story follows Elizabeth, the free-spirited daughter, and Mr. Darcy, a seemingly arrogant aristocrat.

The cast includes Trent Wallin (Mr. Darcy), Nicole Spear (Elizabeth), Andrew Boos (Mr. Bennet), Hannah Burchill (Mrs. Bennet), Vincenza Spagnuolo (Jane), Lissie Jacobsen (Lydia), Scott Bock (Mr. Collins), Seth Gogolin (Mr. Bingley) and Jacquelynn Lentz (Miss Bingley).

John Wanninger directs the play.
