House Republican leaders said they're contemplating ethics charges against a DFLer arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Rep. Rob Leighton, a third-term lawmaker from Austin, was arrested Tuesday night and recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.23.
Leighton was stopped while driving a car that had been involved in a hit-and-run accident.
The woman who had been driving when the accident happened cut her nose, and Leighton said he took over the wheel because she needed to get to a hospital.
