Family services collaborative cites funding opportunity
Crow Wing County Family Services Collaborative announces a funding opportunity meeting Tuesday.
Up to $90,000 will be available countywide. Agencies, entities and individuals interested in working in collaboration to improve our community are encouraged to attend. Priority will be give to collaborative efforts that focus on the CWCFSC goal of ensuring that families are healthy and well nourished.
Collaborative efforts addressing the other two CWCFSC goals of providing a safe and stable environment for all children and youth, and ensuring that children and youth make academic progress, will also be considered.
The meeting is set from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mississippi Horizons School cafeteria in Brainerd.
Friends of Brainerd Library to meet
Friends of the Brainerd Public Library will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the large meeting room at the library. New members are welcome. For more information, call 829-5574.
Nisswa Caboose Society to meet
NISSWA -- The Nisswa Caboose Society, Nisswa Historical Society, will hold its first membership meeting of 2000 at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nisswa Community Center.
All members and interested residents are encouraged to attend.
Agenda items will include planning for the summer season, dedication of the depot's sitting park, grand opening of the pioneer village, a fiddlers' festival, and a sign-up and scheduling of volunteers for spring cleaning and hosting. For more information, call 963-0801.
