Patriots pound out victory

PEQUOT LAKES - Ben Kepner smacked a home run and Kurtis Moody went 2-for-2 with three RBIs as the Pequot Lakes Patriots dismantled the Browerville Tigers 17-7 in five innings of non-conference play Monday.

Casey Christianson pitched three innings of one-run baseball for the Patriots and struck out four. At the plate he went 2-for-3 with a triple. Pequot's Jordan Severance went 2-for-2 with two doubles.

DEER RIVER - Kyle Hoffman finished 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs, but the Aitkin Gobblers were edged out 6-5 by the Deer River Warriors Monday.

Billy Cluff tagged two doubles and Sam Johnson legged out a triple for the Gobblers.
