Todd Holman could be correct in his assertion that assessments would not exceed the value of a lot in Baxter. Still, it seems unlikely that water, sewer and street improvements could be done for significantly less than the $20,000 price similar lots are listed for. The continued denial of reality and poor leadership by city officials will drive property values even lower in the future. There is no question, we need a change in direction at city hall.
We all have choices
Kudos to the person in Vox Pop who stood up for our local educators. I'm not an educator but I'm sick and tired of that segment of our population along with the school board getting bashed constantly. We all have choices. Every single one of the people bashing educators could have been one if they had chosen to. I think it's time we get more positive in this community and don't scapegoat one segment of the population for all our troubles and ills.
