LITTLE FALLS - The Little Falls Flyers went 3-0 on their way to winning the title of their home softball tournament Saturday.
In the first game, the Flyers defeated Isle 10-1 behind Marissa Gessell, who picked up the win. She struck out five in seven innings. Gessell helped herself by going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and a home run. Nhi Dinh also pounded a homer for Little Falls and Kayla Bjorge had a double and three RBIs.
In the second game, Little Falls defeated Minneapolis Washburn 19-4 as Trisha Wippler was 2-4 with three runs and five RBIs.
The Flyers locked up the championship with a 7-5 win over Upsala.
Angela Jelinski picked up the win for Little Falls. Gessell relieved her in the seventh to slam the door and pick up the save with two strikeouts in the inning.
Sammi Koester had a hit and two RBIs to lead the Flyers at the plate.
