STAPLES -- Thirteen Central Lakes College students received awards for creative designs and photographs entered in district competition.
The students received what are known as "Addy" awards, and several were good enough to advance to national competition. The eighth district of the American Advertising Federation accorded the honors.
The entries were produced by students in two Staples campus programs -- Communication Art, and Design and Photographic Imaging Technology.
Students whose works have been forwarded to the national level are Brad Raymond, a Rochester native now living in Brainerd, who has four entries advancing; Sheri Baldwin of Staples, who was honored with Best of Show and whose photograph, "Scream," moves to the next level; Stephanie Rossman of Sauk Rapids in communication art and design; and Denise Nichols of Ulen in photography.
Others cited with Addy awards were Monica Katzenberger and Latisha Kendall, both of Wadena; Nechelle Stephens, Perham; Ashley Westermann, Brooklyn Park; Tim Fiebiger, Baxter; Michelle Pietz, Randall; Chris Stout, Sebeka; James Peterson, Pequot Lakes; and Melody Neumiller, Staples.
