Rocori edges Brainerd in 10 innings

COLD SPRING -- The unbeaten Rocori Spartans scored an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th inning to edge the Brainerd Warriors 1-0 in Central Lakes Conference softball Thursday.

The Warriors rapped out eight hits and were led by Jackie Byrne who went 3-for-4 with three singles.

Melynda Ringstrom pitched a complete game for the Warriors, allowing eight hits.

"It was just a great high school softball game," Brainerd head coach Mike Zauhar said. "It was a very competitive game and both teams played solid defense."

The Warriors are scheduled to return to action Saturday when they play at the Detroit Lakes Tournament.
