PALISADE -- Donovan L. Slough, 69, Palisade, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at home.
He was born Nov. 12, 1931, in Bemidji to Frank and Lina (Petrie) Slough. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1950. He joined the Air Force and served in Korea. He was discharged in 1953 and moved to Minneapolis. He worked as a meat cutter for Armour and Co. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from Dunwoody Institute in electricity. He worked for Collins Electric as a superintendent. In 1976, he co-founded C.S.I. Electric Inc. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Palisade, the I.B.E.W., the VFW and American Legion Posts in Richfield, the Palisade Lions and the Sportsman's Club. He and his wife moved to Logan Township in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Doris (Tyren); two daughters, Connye Slough, Phoenix, and Rindye Phillips, Alaska; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His parents; two sisters, Beulah and Beyrl; and three brothers, Phil, Jim and Neil, died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Palisade with the Rev. William Sass officiating. Burial will be Tuesday in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji. Military rites will be provided by the Aitkin VFW and Legion Posts.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin and an hour before services Monday at the church.
