Students in the medical secretary program at Central Lakes College hosted appearance professionals with 30 years of experience on Administrative Professionals Day April 23 on the Brainerd campus.
Christine Grave, counter manager for Clinique at Herberger's Department Store, demonstrated skin treatment, makeup application and personalized use of cosmetics. Valerie Miller, sales consultant and coordinator of style shows and seminars for Herberger's, showed the latest wardrobe samples for professionals.
"The students will be interviewing for career positions and also use this information for everyday, on-the-job professional appearance purposes," said Connie Veiths, instructor.
Tonya Hines, Brainerd, volunteered for the makeup demonstration during the seminar.
Grave said that once the basics are understood, makeup application that is subtle but enhancing can be accomplished efficiently.
Miller provided several tips for a career wardrobe.
