Monson, Pierz clipped by Eagles

EDEN VALLEY -- Pierz Pioneers pitcher, Jeremy Monson, struck out 10 batters and hit a solo home run in the second inning, but it wasn't enough as the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles put together a late rally to slip past Pierz 4-2 in Central Minnesota Conference baseball.

Monson took a shutout into the sixth inning, but EV-W rallied for four runs. Mike Pohlkamp knocked in Cody Happke with Pierz's other run in the fifth.
