The Brainerd Warriors sophomore baseball team is 4-1 following wins over Sartell (18-8), Rocori (10-5) and Alexandria (4-0, 5-4.)
Brainerd's only loss was to St. Cloud Tech (2-0).
Leading hitters are Anthony Hennen (.525), Tom Andrew (.444), Scott Williams (.417) and Grant Eller (.417.)
Brainerd hosts St. Cloud Apollo Tuesday.
Brainerd JV softball wins
The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity softball team defeated Sauk Rapids 11-5 Friday.
Hilary Smith went 2-for-4 with two home runs for the Warriors and Laura Bernu went 2-2 with a pair of doubles.
British Soccer Camps to return to area
The Brainerd Family YMCA and Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department will once again bring British Soccer Camps to the lakes area.
Separate levels of instruction are available based upon ages and ability. Each session will include: foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages and daily tournament play.
The camp will run Aug. 4-8 at Memorial Park in Brainerd. The coaching staff is flown to the USA exclusively to perform a series of summer coaching camps for Challenger British Soccer Camps. Each coach has a national coaching license from Great Britain.
Registration is under way. Registrations received after July 25 will be on a space available basis only. Registration forms are available at the YMCA or at the parks and recreation office at Lum Park.

Weiland earns second straight NCC honor
University of North Dakota sophomore Nick Weiland of Brainerd pitched a complete game shutout over Augustana on April 18 to earn his second straight North Central Conference pitcher of the week award.
Weiland allowed just three singles and struck out five without walking a batter in a 5-0 Sioux victory.
Weiland has a 0.64 ERA in his last two outings, with 13 strikeouts and just one walk in 14 innings. His complete-game shutout was the first of his career and just the second time he has gone all seven innings.
Weiland is 3-1 with a 4.22 ERA and a team-high 27 strikeouts. His efforts in the past two weeks has allowed UND to climb into the playoff hunt as the Sioux have posted a 6-2 NCC record in that span.
