SHERIDAN, Wyo. -- Elsie Alda Norine, 92, Sheridan, Wyo., formerly of Onamia, died December 6, 2002, in Sheridan, Wyo.
She was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Minneapolis, to Anton and Amanda (Froberg) Jindra. As a child she moved to a pioneer farm in Dailey Township and attended District 56 rural school on the Jindra property and Onamia High School. She worked at Bay View Hotel on Cove Bay and Hank's Cafe in Milaca. She married Laurince Norine on July 14, 1932. They operated a dairy farm on the Pierz Road for more than 30 years, retiring to Onamia in 1963. Her husband died in 1976 and she moved to the Oakwood Apartments in Onamia. In 1990, she went to Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan, Wyo., to be near her daughter Marilyn. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and belonged to the Dailey Birthday Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Leander; four grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Rohloff and Esther Schnapp, Minnesota; and six great-grandchildren.
Her parents; a daughter, DeLoris Olson; two brothers, James and Raymond Jindra; and a sister, Lillian Swanson, died earlier.
A memorial service is set at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia with the Rev. T. Wayne Larson officiating. Memorials may be sent to the local Gideon Organization or to Bethany Lutheran Church at Onamia.
