The 1,000 Friends of Minnesota announces its second Voices for the Land essay contest.
The contest is open to all ages. Describe in 400 words or less the landscapes you think should be protected and the people who taught you to value and save Minnesota's natural resources.
Send your typed, double-spaced essays to VFL Editor, Milkweed Editions, 1011 Washington Ave. S., Suite 300, Minneapolis, MN 55415. Include your name, address, county, telephone number and age if you are under 18. Deadline for submission is May 18.
Winning essays will be published by Milkweed Editions in a special edition chapbook. For more details visit 1,000 Friends' Web site at www.1000fom.org. Several winners will appear in readings and their essays will be shown on 1,000 Friends of Minnesota's Web site and in the Star Tribune.
Voices for the Land is a project of 1,000 Friends of Minnesota who retains all the rights to non-commercial uses. Entries will not be returned.
