This is the weekend to catch the lakes area's newest performance group in concert.
The Central Minnesota Boys' Choir wraps up its inaugural season with a performance at 7 p.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples and another at 4 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria.
Long in the making, the choir features young voices from Brainerd, Staples, Wadena and several other central Minnesota communities.
Admission is free, although free-will offerings will be taken.
If you are in the Little Falls area Friday, consider a stop at Lindbergh Elementary School where a team of fresco artists is working on the third and final stage of the wall-sized painting.
Little Falls artist Charles Kapsner is in charge of the project, which began a couple of years ago to commemorate the area's people and history.
The project is open to public viewing 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday through mid-May, when the final brush stokes will be applied.
