Last year: Jeremy Mayfield won, switching ignition boxes when he momentarily lost power near the end.

Fast facts: Jeff Gordon set the race record of 155.012 mph at the inaugural event in 1997. ... Gordon has won two of the four races in Fontana. ... Dale Jarrett leads Gordon by 145 points in the standings.

Last race: Mike McLaughlin won for the first time in three years and 75 races, taking the Subway 300. McLaughlin, whose last victory came in Concord, N.C., in October 1998, took the lead on lap 104 and led to the end of the 113-lap event at Talladega Superspeedway.

Last year: Mark Martin crossed the finish line 1.111 seconds ahead of Jeff Burton for the victory.

Fast facts: Greg Biffle, in his rookie season, leads Kevin Harvick by three points in the standings. ... Biffle won the Craftsman Trucks series title last year.
