BLAINE -- Allan Theodore Dorstad, 60, Blaine, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at home.
He was born June 1, 1940, in Crosby to Einar T. and Helen Elvera (Check) Dorstad. He served in the Army, Army Reserves and as military police. He was presented with the expert marksmanship trophy twice. He attended Creston High School in Creston, Iowa, and graduated from Worthington High School. He married Karen Lee Mitchell on March 21, 1959, in Worthington. He worked for several years servicing household appliances and then went into industrial management.
Survivors include his mother, Helen "Elvera" Frasl, Blaine; his former wife, Karen Bovee, Aurora; five daughters, Terri Rantala, Aurora, Lori Rantala, Aurora, Kim Piersig, Virginia, Traci Maynard, Forbes, and Marshawne Geisdorf, Aurora; a son, Mark Dorstad, Hibbing; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Loren Dorstad, Portland, Ore., and Merrill Dorstad, Brooklyn Park; and three sisters, Delores Andren, Crosby, Marlene Murrell, Ham Lake, and Janet Robideau, Coon Rapids.
His father, Einar "Ted" Dorstad, died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Koop Funeral Home in Crosby with the Rev. David Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.
