Habitat for Humanity informational meeting

The Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity will have an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall at First Congregational Church, 415 Juniper Street, Brainerd.

Class of 1944 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Northwind Grille.

Memorial services for Post and Auxiliary members

Memorial services for all Post and Auxiliary members will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Mahlum-Hanson VFW Post in Brainerd. All family and friends are invited to attend.

VFW fundraiser

The Brainerd VFW will have a Mexican fiesta fundraiser beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Ray's Promenaders' Square Dance Jamboree

Ray's Promenaders will have its 56th annual Square Dance Jamboree from 2-5 p.m. May 3 at the Franklin Arts Center lower gym. Many callers and a cuer will be attending. Recycled clothing will be available. Club members will provide refreshments and door prizes during the dance.

Woodland Wildflowers

The Woodland Wildflower group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at El Tequila.

Alpha Chapter No. 23 OES

Alpha Chapter No. 23 OES will meet Monday at the Masonic Hall. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. Meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m. Servers will be Reva Snell and Lois Bettchen.

BNSF Vets Association

The BNSF Vets Association will have a breakfast meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Northwind Grille. There will also be a pizza party at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Giovanni's free to paid up members.

Class of 1958

The Class of 1958 will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Boardwalk Bread and Bagel.

Senior dances

Senior dances will be 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at Motley with music by The Drifters; from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at Waukenabo with music by Jerry B.; and from 1-4 p.m. Friday at Deerwood with music by John and Virginia.

Parachuting for Parkinson's kick-off dinner

NISSWA - The Parachuting for Parkinson's kick-off dinner will begin at 5 p.m. May 2 at the Nisswa American Legion with a silent auction and social hour. Dinner will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Cost for the chicken dinner for adults is $15 and $8 for children.

Those who attend the dinner will have the opportunity to hear how Nonie Stumvoll and others are going to jump out of an airplane this summer at BIR to raise money for Parkinson's Disease research.

Quilt bingo

HILLMAN - The Holy Family Catholic Church in Hillman is hosting quilt bingo at 1 p.m. May 3 at the Bulldog Lake Activity Center, Hwy. 8, Hillman. The event is also hosted by Catholic Aid Association with a matching grant fundraiser.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome presentation

There will be a Fetal Alcohol Syndrome presentation at noon Thursday at the Chalberg Theatre at Central Lakes College.

Speaker will be Mary Jo Hofer, case manager/coordinator of the FASD Grant at Lakewood Health System.

The information presented will focus on the most recent research on FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). This will include FASD identification, updated diagnostic criteria, the referral process and intervention strategies.
