Elizabeth 'Betty' Kliewer

JACOBSON -- Elizabeth "Betty" Kliewer, 66, Jacobson, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at home.

She was born March 17, 1935, in Gaylord to Henry and Anna (Carlson) Schilling. She moved to Minneapolis with her family and graduated from Vocational High School. She married Alvin Kliewer on June 19, 1954, in Minneapolis. They farmed in Verdon Township.

Survivors include her husband; seven daughters, Dolores Richardson, Big Fork, Darla Aarestad, Athol, Ind., Delight Michaels, Washington, Dianne Tenute, Elk River, Deidre Harbaugh, Big Lake, Denae Dale, Aitkin, and Darilyn Kliewer, Aitkin; seven sons, Dennis, Clarkston, Wash., Dean, Jacobson, Dale, Blaine, Darwin "Pete," Aitkin, Doug, Elk River, Deland, Aitkin, and Daryl, Aitkin; 31 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Miller, Columbia Heights; and a brother, Richard Schilling, Maple Grove.

Her parents, a sister and a brother died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Carmel Lutheran Church near Jacobson with the Rev. Loren Anderson-Bauer officiating. Burial will be in the Verdon Cemetery.

Friends may call an hour before services Friday at the church.
