Lila M. Johnson

SWANVILLE -- Lila Margaret Johnson, 81, Swanville, died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at home.

She was born Sept. 3, 1919, in Burnhamville Township to Elmer and Anna (Johnson) Rosty. She graduated from Swanville High School in 1937. She married Lloyd M. Johnson on Sept. 7, 1941, in Little Falls. They lived on a farm in Bruce Township in Todd County. She worked at Munsingwear in Little Falls for about six years. In 1968, they moved to Minneapolis. She worked as the salad chef at the Edgewater Inn. In 1982, she retired and moved back to Swanville. Her husband died Nov. 21, 1985. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville, St. Peter's Ladies Aid and was active in the Senior Center for many years.

Survivors include two sons, John Johnson, Swanville, and Loren Johnson, Long Prairie; a daughter, Judy Johnson, St. Francis; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ervin Rosty, Minneapolis, Clifford Rosty, Casper, Wyo., and Lawrence Rosty, Little Falls; and a special friend, Mary Rocheleau.

Her husband, Lloyd Johnson; a brother, Norman Rosty; and a sister, Dorothy Mueller, died earlier.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville with the Rev. John O. Grein officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Swanville.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Shelley-Gibson Funeral Chapel in Swanville, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and an hour before services Thursday at the church.
