The accident happened on County Road 11 near County Road 3. The two Consolidated Telephone Co. linemen, Jason Atwater and Paul Clasemann, were erecting a low-voltage telephone line when it came into contact with a high-voltage power line, Consolidated reported.
Atwater was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd and later to Hennepin County Medical Center for observation, where he was later released.
Clasemann was airlifted by North Air Care to Hennepin County Medical Center where he remains in the intensive care burn unit, company officials said. The hospital said he was in serious condition this morning.
