LONGVILLE -- The first activity of the Run Around Woman Weekend in Longville, an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner, will be 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Salem Lutheran Church.
The $5 meal is open to the public.
Registration packets will be available at the dinner for racers who have already registered. Registration volunteers will register anyone for the 30k race, the 5-mile walk or 5-mile run.
Saturday, May 5, registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Longville Elementary School. The 30k race will begin at 9 a.m. west of downtown Longville near St. Edwards Catholic Church and the 5-mile race and walk will begin at 9:15 a.m. in downtown Longville at the Longville Chamber Information Building.
If weather permits, the band "Andy And His Boys" will provide music on Main Street near Frosty's.
At about 1 p.m. an awards ceremony will be held in the parking lot of the Docksider.
The Longville 30k is the only 30k event in the state. It will circle Woman Lake. The race, the 5-mile walk and the 5-mile run will end in downtown Longville on the shores of Girl Lake.
State Highway 84 from Wheeler Marine to the city of Longville will be closed from about 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on race day. As soon as the last runner passes Mule Lake Store at the intersection of State Highway 84 and County Road 11, the roads will reopen.
Traffic will be rerouted to County Roads 54 and 47. Road closure barricades and detour signs will be located on the affected roadways.
The last 30k runner should cross the finish line about noon. The 30k runners will run along the side of the road from the Mule Lake Store to The Woman Lake Inn and to the city of Longville.
The 5-mile run and 5-mile walk participants will be on both side of County Road 5 from about 2 1/2 miles west of Longville. At the 2 1/2-mile mark, there will be a turn-around and the walkers and runners will head back to the finish line.
There will be aid stations along the side of the road every 3-4 miles for runners and walkers.
