Motoko Kinebuchi, a Japanese student at Central Lakes College, will present the May 3 Cultural Thursday program for the public.
Kinebuchi will graduate in May from the Brainerd campus, where she is earning her associate in arts degree.
Fluent in English, she also speaks German and French and is studying Spanish. She has worked as a translator and plans to continue work in this profession.
She is from the second largest Japanese city, Yokohama, where her father is a business executive and her mother is a social worker.
Kinebuchi said she will show images and provide personal insight into Japanese education, government and customs.
This free program is offered from noon to 12:50 p.m. the first Thursday of each month by the Center for Languages and Cultures of the Americas, a campus organization. For information on presenting or to suggest a program, contact Jan Kurtz at CLC at (218) 855-8183 or 1-800-933-0346, extension 8183.
