Brainerd JV team plays two

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity baseball team split a doubleheader Monday.

Brainerd lost the first game 11-6 to Alexandria and won the second 12-11 in eight innings against Pillager.

John Vanlandschoot, Nate Weber, David Berndgen, Justin Huether, Garett Warren and Kevin O'Grady pitched for Brainerd.

Fitness Frenzy event Saturday

The Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department's Fitness Frenzy 5-kilometer run/walk is scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday at Kiwanis Park.

Participants are asked to park in the Brainerd High School lot across the street from Kiwanis Park.

Participants should start arriving around 9:30 a.m. to register and to start bidding on silent auction items.

Dinkel leads Pillager

UNDERWOOD -- Jayson Dinkel shot 79 for third place and helped the Pillager Huskies boys' golf team to a third-place finish at the Underwood Invitational Tuesday.
