The Central Lakes College Raiders state tournament hopes remained intact with a sweep of the St. Cloud Technical Cyclones at the Findorff Athletic Complex Wednesday.
CLC evened its Central Division record at 7-7. Following Friday's non-conference match-up against Itasca, the Raiders' playoff hopes receive a final test with a division doubleheader at Fergus Falls on Saturday.
"It was a nice sweep for us," Raiders coach Joel Lofstrom said of Wednesday's games. "It gives us a shot at the state tournament."
Keegan Meagher knocked a sacrifice fly into left field in the bottom of the 11th to bring Alex Larson home and give the Raiders a 5-4 Game-One win.
Kyle Schaible came out of the bullpen with two out in the sixth and pitched 5.1 innings of shut-out baseball. Schaible allowed only three hits and one walk to earn the win.
Josh Janzen was 2-for-4 and his two-run single in the seventh tied the game 4-4. Josh Ledin and Dillon Naumann were both 2-4.
After collecting five runs on 12 hits in the first game, the Raiders scored nine runs on 11 hits in a 9-8 Game-Two win, scoring in the bottom of the seventh on a throwing error.
Meagher drove in two more runs and Ryan Pauly knocked in one in the fourth inning of the finale, while Ledin drove in two runs on a fifth-inning double. Meagher and Pauly each went 3-for-4.
Brandon Hilts struck out five and held the Cyclones scoreless in the final 4.2 innings to earn the Game-Two win.
