Brainerd School Board members held a lengthy debate before voting 3-2 to refuse readmission of a boy who withdrew from school after two truancies. A formal hearing for the boy and his father was held previously.

Two Brainerd men were injured when a sewer ditch they were digging caved in on J Street, between Eighth and Mill Avenues. They were 14 feet below ground level and were covered to waist deep.

Highway 19 from Brainerd to Nisswa and from Pequot to Pine River will be retreated with tarvia this summer it was announced. The work will take two weeks and cost about $600 per mile.

Deputy Sheriff Theorin and Officer Winters today arrested two men wanted in Blackduck as holdup artists. They held up an old man in a Blackduck saloon, taking $3 and a watch. But when they showed up drunk to collect their railroad paychecks, they were nabbed.
